My quest to complete fifty new experiences before I turn 50 is almost done. I’m now at forty accomplishments with ten left to go and only six weeks to do them in. I have confidence in myself to achieve my goal.
Only 10 left to go before February 26!
31) Horseback riding on the beach. Ahhhh, a long time coming for this one. I’ve wanted to do this since I was a teenager. I don’t claim to be a great horsewoman but I can hold my own. However, growing up without animals, made riding hard. But I’ve always loved doing it. My husband and youngest son were with me and we had a fabulous time. I highly recommend doing this.

32) Read Fifty books before my birthday. I hit this goal in December. I have read some amazing stories about strong women, epic fantasy lands, magical beings and heartbreaking situations. Reading has always been a passion which is what lead to my writing. I only hope that my books will bring joy to my readers as books have always brought me.
33) Take my grandson to the pumpkin patch. Anything I do with him is a great time and very special. He may be little, and won’t remember doing all the little things, but memories for everyone around him is important too. Going to the patch has always been one of our families traditions and I love continuing this with him.

34) Go clam digging. Believe it or not I had never done this before, because I had zero desire. I’m a beach lover but I hate to be cold and I will cook the clams but there was nothing that appealed to me about this. With that said, I did do it, and I enjoyed watching my son do it. He was a maniac! Will I do it again? Perhaps, you never know!

35) Experience an endoscopy! Definitely not something I chose to experience but here we are. I had been having some pretty severe abdominal pain, so this was a diagnostic test I had to endure to get the diagnosis. Which ended up being an acute pancreatitis. The team that cared for me was phenomenal, however I still don’t recommend. But I am thankful to have answers.

36) Attend a costume party! Strangely enough I’ve never done this before. We had been invited in the past but weren’t able to go but this year we made it happen. I know our “condiment” T-shirts aren’t the best costumes but my boys aren’t very adventurous, so this was the best it was going to get.

37) Start a Junk Journal! This kind of craft combines scrapbooking, journaling and recycling! I’m into that for sure! My goal is to never buy anything to go in the journal. It all has to be items I already own or pick up randomly. It’s so fun.

38) Write a letter to myself. After all of the trauma I’ve experienced, I decided I would write a letter to myself, to be opened in one year. I have no expectations as to how I’ll be next year when I open this but I hope I’m better than now.

39) Be an ARC reader for a friend. One of my dear friends and classmates wrote a novel. He trusted me to preview it before it was published. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope he writes another.
40) See Cindy Lauper in concert! Childhood dream come true! This is one bad ass chick and I loved doing this with my friend Denise!
