Ways to Honor Your Child

If you’ve experienced the ultimate loss, that of your child, then you know what real pain feels like. Pain that rips your soul out on a daily if not hourly basis. There’s no end to it and it’ll never really heal. But bringing their memory alive in the way that speaks to you can help in the journey we are all on. It can bring peace and love to your heart and start to loosely lace together the pieces of our hearts.

When we lost our sixteen year old son, I never thought I would be able to breathe again let alone function. The pain is so very raw daily. But, almost as though he was speaking right to me, I knew I wanted to do things to honor him. It’s very important to ensure that you’re choosing events or actions that fit your child and their personality. For example I wouldn’t name a rose after my son, but I would have a fishing derby in his honor. Drawing on our love and knowledge of our babies will help guide you as you travel this journey. Blessings from my family to yours.
