Everyone has their favorite things. However, have you ever sat down and written them down? It’s an amazing experience. It is a way for you to discover your blessings and to be thankful for what you have.
I’m going to share my top 100 over the next ten weeks with you. I hope you enjoy and can relate.
Of course my family is at the top of my list. They keep me centered and make me who I am. Without them I don’t know who or where I would be.
The ocean. I am so blessed to live a mere hour away from the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Her strong waves and sandy shores make my heart sing and my soul dance. She is where my beautiful momma was laid to rest and where I spent so many summer vacations as a kid. Her waters may be cold but her strength makes up for it.
Fritos chips….yes I know. They’re evil. But oh my goodness they are the one snack I will never say no to. I may only eat a few but oh how glorious those few are! Don’t judge me!
Animals, specifically dogs….more specifically, my dog. Rainey. She’s my sweetie. She’s a goofy 8 year old German Shepherd. I have been blessed with so many amazing pets throughout my life and life wouldn’t be the same without them. I never thought I would be married to a hunter considering how much I adore animals. But here I am….
Paper and pens. I adore them. I doodle, write, send cards, doodle some more. I just use them for everything. You’ll always find me with some sort of paper or pen in my possession.
Writing; In any form or medium. Blogging is my newest but as I’ve stated in the past I’ve also written short stories, poetry and a children’s book. It’s therapeutic and an easy way for self expression.
Our Lord and Savior. Because of Him I exist and because He loves me I prosper. I owe it all to Him.
Cozy sweaters. These used to be a huge no for me. I hated how I looked in them, they made me hot and they clung to my rolls! Now I adore them. Without the extra weight they’re my new favorite way to stay warm. I now own many of these lovely creations.
Photography; Especially nature pictures. I live in the most beautiful place and the photo opportunities are endless. These are all taken with my iPhone as well! “Real” cameras are overpriced and there’s too many steps to using them. I like to see the world through the lens of my phone.
Scrapbooking. I have done multiple books for my children and myself. And like every good scrapbooker, I’m years behind! I need to get caught up before I have grand-babies to scrapbook for!
When we find out what our loves are then we can take a look at ourselves. We become more in tune with who we are and how we got to be here. The things I love now at 43 are very different than when I was 12 or 22 or even 35. Though, some endure the test of time.
What are your loves? Please share them with me or with others. Because after we are gone, those memories will be all that’s left.
