Exercise part 2

It’s happened.

The transformation has happened. I never thought it would, nor did I think it would happen this quickly if it happened at all.

Exercise, my nemesis, my evil tormentor, basically Satan himself. It has it’s hold on me.

Why? Because I can move easier now. I can move with less pain and believe it or not, I feel better when I do it.

Now I know you think I’ve lost it and I think I have too. But I will say this, I’m thankful that I’m able to do it at all.

I started out easy, I began to walk. No big deal, low impact and at my own pace. I started at work, just walking down the block to the park and back on my lunch hour. Plug in my head phones and away I went. It felt great. I couldn’t believe it.

So then I thought I would start walking at home too. I live in the perfect setting. Our driveway is about 3/4 of a mile long and we live so far out that I have hundreds of acres at my disposal.

So I started down the driveway, through the woods and back. Feeling great.

Then my children heard the cry of a cougar!

YIKES!!!

So the walks with the kids ended for about a week. LOL My husband went out to look for it but couldn’t find it, so back to our walks we go.

Then I began doing a little jogging here and there. Now that was amazing. I have always loved the thought of running, but because of my knee issues I never thought I would be able to do it again. And I can. And it’s great! Granted, the next day my body hates me but that’s OK.

Now back in 2000-2001 I was doing Tae-Bo faithfully and feeling amazing. This was before my knee injury. So I thought, well I need to change things up every once in a while so I don’t get bored. So I broke out my old VHS tape of my Tae-Bo!! Billy Blanks, why have I kept you stored away so long. HEE HEE

Now I don’t know if you have children, but there is nothing cuter than watching my 6, 5 and 2 year old trying to kick box. LOL It’s so funny but I love that they are trying. They love to walk with me too. Though NA slows me down.

I am showing my children that we are an active family not one that just sits around and does a lot of nothing! What a great legacy for them.

So between walking, jogging (slowly) and Tao- Bo I have a fitness routine. I love it. And I know some of you are probably thinking you can’t do it. That’s OK. But I will tell you that you can. You can start where you are. I’m not tearing up the world here. I’m slow.

Really, really slow.

But that’s the pace I need right now. When I feel comfortable I will kick it up a notch. I have a great location for walking and doing all kinds of things but I like to walk the track at the high school too. (plus, it’s flat ground LOL)

Just start where you are.

And if you need encouragement. I’m here for you!
